SKJazz celebrates 17 years of album reviews!

News out of Bratislava: the first Slovakian online jazz magazine SKJAZZ.SK celebrates its 17th birthday today.

Exactly 17 years ago at the 2005 Pet Jazz festival, founder and editor-in-chief Patrick Španko announced the official launch of the portal to the visitors of this festival.

Since then, the site has expanded to its current form which features a near-daily stream of album reviews, festival announcements, announcements and news pieces.

Whilst the site is published in its native language, the built in Google translate functions today means it is a recommended stop for jazz fans of all locations looking to get a unique take on the international jazz scene.

For those who like to *see* the action, there is a great stream of live performance photos on display, as well as a video of the week feature and an interview corner.

Commenting on the occasion, editor Patrick Španko wrote:

“Strengthened by this beautiful anniversary, we continue on and will pull the jazz wagon in the future – for your information, for your satisfaction and for the love of jazz! Thank you for your favour, support and encouragement for the next years of activity!”

You can check out some recent reviews of Jazzfuel PR projects including Owls Trio, Fredrik Lundin, Matthias Bublath and Florian Arbenz.

Here’s to another 17 years!
