“[John Cervantes] plays beautifully and lyrically… The enthusiastic audience would not let the band leave without an encore, they knew they had seen something special.” – London Jazz News (UK)

John Cervantes (piano) with Adam King (bass) and David Ingamells (drums)

Based in London (UK), the trio plays John’s original compositions written with a love for 1950s/60s jazz (such as Wynton Kelly, Oscar Peterson, Herbie Hancock), with a sense of swing rooted even further back in the swing era of Duke Ellington.

John met bass player Adam King and drummer David Ingamells separately in 2010, whilst studying at the Royal Academy of Music. He continued to play with them in various settings for seven years until putting the trio together in 2017.

They have gone on to consolidate as one unit by the process of discussing, individually learning, and finally playing together, favourite arrangements from recordings.
